Our Story

If you’re wondering where “Brew Birds” comes from, all you need to know is that we are avid baseball fans who happen to like rival teams: The Milwaukee Brewers and the St. Louis Cardinals. Brew. Birds. Get it? We thought it was sooo clever.

Thanks to a little website called Ok Cupid, a 96% match, and a click on what seemed like a joke, We realized there’s more to both of us than just sportsballs.

For instance, you knew it was love when Steve would drive 45 minutes to Cassandra’s dinky apartment every weekend with little hope of finding parking. Then again, it was probably worth it because nothing says “I’m into you” like trying to make a three course meal in a 250 sq. ft. apartment. Or perhaps it was Steve’s going camping after swearing he’d never go camping. Or me swearing I’d never step foot in to Busch Stadium *shudder* Do you know a Pabst costs 12.00 down there? Sacrilege! Maybe it was a love of music and concerts of which we’ve been to too many to count. But when I write poems declaring my love and Steve makes mixed tapes with crooners asking me to marry him…well, the rest is history.

In the past two and a half years we have been to five states, to Wisconsin and the great city of Milwaukee almost as much as we live in Chicago, countless baseball games at five different ball parks, and everywhere in-between (just look at our calendar — never a free weekend; you know, many of you were there!) We expect to expand our horizons and live up this little thing called life as husband and wife.

And to start, we’ll make our commitment to love by getting married on August 26, 2017 at the DeKoven Center in Racine, WI. We hope you’ll join us for the celebration!
